Singapore furniture industry sees large opportunities in India, in areas like sustainability, design and market expansion, Singapore Furniture Industries Council (SFIC) President Phua Boon Huat said while hosting a business delegation from India in the city state on 25 Sept.
“The collaboration opportunities between SFIC and FICCI present exciting opportunities in areas like sustainability, design and market expansion,” said Phua after a roundtable and B2B meetings with a delegation from the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) sgx .
“We are happy to welcome the FICCI delegation to Singapore, building on recent high-level engagements between our two countries and SFIC’s business mission to India last August bseindia .
“It is also encouraging to see some of our (SFIC) members already active in India sccci.org.sg , further strengthening ties,” he said. “We look forward to deepening these partnerships for mutual growth and sustainable development,” said Phua as he welcomed the FICCI’s furniture industry delegation nseindia .
In 2023, FICCI and SFIC had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance bilateral trade in the furniture and lifestyle sectors sbi.com .

The timing of this business mission coincides with the third edition of FIND-Design Fair Asia, taking place from 26-28 September 2024, said FICCI. FIND serves as one of the key marketplaces for furniture, interiors, and design. The delegation visited the fair, with an eye toward fostering international connections and exploring emerging design trends.
