Rajnath Singh notes enthusiasm of UK CEOs-business leaders

The UK-based industry leaders have outlined their current and future plans for India at a London roundtable with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on 10 Jan 2024.

Rajnath Singh noted the positivity and enthusiasm of UK CEOs & business leaders on working in India with Indian companies in various fields including Aero-engines, Electric Propulsion, missiles, power-packs, and maritime systems.

These were identified as some of the focus areas of joint work by the industry stalwarts and representatives of international industrial groups including BAE Systems, GE Vernova, James Fisher Defence, Leonardo S.p.A., Martin Baker Aircraft Company Ltd, SAAB UK, Thales UK, Ultra-Maritime Rolls-Royce, ADS Group, and MBDA UK.

Responding, Rajnath Singh highlighted that India is ready with skilled human resource base, a robust pro-FDI and pro-business ecosystem as well as a huge domestic market.

Welcoming investment and technology collaboration from the UK during the roundtable meeting on 10 Jan 2024, he asserted that the Indian Government envisions an enriching partnership with UK to cooperate, co-create and co-innovate. “By synergising the strengths of our nations, we can do great things together,” he said.

He highlighted the importance of the India-UK ties, pointing out that there is a symbiotic relationship between the two countries.

The Roundtable included thematic discussions on strengthening the India-UK defence industrial relationship.

Rajnath Singh co-chaired the roundtable with his UK counterpart Grant Shapps.

It was also attended by UK MoD officials, Chair, UK India Business Council, and CII India representatives. The meeting was also attended by UK Minister of State for Defence Procurement, James Cartildge.

Shapps underlined that the UK-India ties transcend the normal buyer-seller relationship and is fundamentally a strategic partnership. Fiinews.com
