Markose assures of commitment to quality and tailored retail experience
Tanishq, India’s most-loved jewellery brand from the Tata Group, has arrived on Singapore’s shores, opening their first boutique in the city-state as part of its global market expansion to have 50 outlets serving the 32+ million Indian diaspora across the world.
Dr. Shilpak Ambule, the High Commissioner of India to Singapore, inaugurated the showroom opening which is set to cater to Indians based in Southeast Asia.
“Long-term plan is to have 50 boutiques globally, and the company is planning such retail outlets in the United Kingdom, Australia and Malaysia,” says Kuruvilla Markose, CEO of Titan Company that manages the brand business.
Currently, Titan has 13 boutiques in the international market and is constantly scouting for new sites to serve some 32 million global Indian diasporas, he said after the opening of Singapore boutique on Nov 4.
KV Rao, Resident Director of ASEAN at Tata Sons, elaborated, “As a true Tata brand, it lives the values of giving back, by protecting and promoting the ageless craftsmanship of Indian jewellery making.
“Tanishq in Singapore aims to delight the customers in Singapore, and the endless visitors from all over the world – to come, see, touch, feel and possess a piece of Tanishq, a treasure forever, also giving a testament to our designers and artisans behind this magic.”
Tanishq is a proud story of nearly 30 years. In Sanskrit, Tan – means body, and Nishq – gold ornament (necklace) that beautifies a woman.
The launch is a part of Tanishq’s International business expansion strategy as part of India’s ‘Look East’ Policy, especially the Indian emphasis on people to people connect, Rao underscored.
Spanning over 2,800 square feet spread over two floors, the boutique store on Serangoon Road offers more than 2,000 unique designs.
“With a firm commitment to quality, ethical sourcing, and a tailored retail experience, Tanishq is here to provide Singaporeans with jewellery that epitomises perfection.” said Kuruvilla Markose, CEO, Titan International Business which manages the Indian brand.
Tanishq currently has a presence of 410+ stores in India. The company launched its first brick-and-mortar store, outside India, in Dubai in November 2020, and since then, has added twelve stores outside India, seven in the United Arab Emirates, two in Qatar, two in the US, and now one in Singapore.
