MSME promotion programme launched in North Eastern Region-Sikkim
Manipur will emerge as a premier gateway to the 665 million people strong markets in the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) because of the Central and State Governments’ combined efforts, according to Minister for of Micro, Small, & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), Narayan Rane.
Addressing a National Seminar on ‘Growth and Development of MSMEs’ in Imphal on 20 Nov 2022, he said Manipur will be an important import-export hub for the North Eastern Region, especially following the establishment of Technology Centres in the state.
The implementation of ‘Promotion of MSMEs in North Eastern Region & Sikkim’ scheme and the new guidelines on MSMEs will further contribute to making Manipur a gateway to the South East Asian markets.
He also officiated at the signing of Memoranda of Understanding for ‘Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance’ (RAMP) with the Department of Textiles, Commerce, Industry and Tourism, Manipur Government, and three platforms of Trade Receivables Discounting System (TReDS), viz.
