Work scope of Rs.1,080cr Mula-Mutha river rejuvenation
The Prime Minister Narendra Modi has laid foundation stones and inaugurated multiple developmental projects in Pune including the 12-km stretch of Rs.11,400 crore 32.2-km Metro Rail Project.
He laid the foundation stone for Rs.1,080 crore rejuvenation and pollution abatement of Mula-Mutha River.
Works such as river edge protection, interceptor sewage network, public amenities, boating activity etc will be carried out along the 9-km of the river.
The Mula-Mutha River pollution abatement project will be implemented on the concept of “One City One Operator” at a cost of over Rs.1,470 crore. A total of 11 sewage treatment plants will be constructed under the project, with a combined capacity of around 400 MLD.
Inaugurating the Pune Metro Rail Project on 6 Mar 2022, Modi underlined the need for smart mobility in every city with people using single card for all transport facilities.
The Prime Minister elaborated, “There should be Integrated Command & Control Center in every city to make the facility smart. Every city should have a modern waste management system to strengthen the circular economy.
“There should be enough modern sewage treatment plants to make every city water plus, better arrangements should be made for the conservation of water sources.”
The Prime Minister also launched 140 e-buses. fiinews.com
