Singh pushes for Rooftop Solar Programme Ph-II
Twenty States and UTs have identified cities to be developed as Solar and Green City, said Minister for Power and New and Renewable Energy R.K. Singh, while requesting other states to also identify at least a city in their jurisdiction for development as a Solar City.
He urged states and UTs to launch a campaign in every city for deployment of clean and green energy projects such as rooftop solar, waste to energy plants, solar street lights, electric vehicle, etc.
Joint efforts of Central and States would help in successful implementation of these Schemes and achieving the renewable energy targets of the country, he added during meetings held with the states and UTs on 17-18 Aug 2021.
Singh has also re-emphasised the implementation of Rooftop Solar Programme Ph-II, saying the scheme need wide publicity and awareness.
He stressed the need to take the scheme to every household, as installation of rooftop solar will bring down the electricity consumption of the households and save electricity expenditure. #energy #OPEC #solar #projects #infrastructure #investment /fiinews.com
