Expectation: long-term growth rates
S&P Global Ratings has reaffirmed Sovereign Credit Rating of India at BBB- with Stable outlook, saying it expects Indian economy to continue to outperform its peers and that growth will remain strong over the next 2 years.
In a report released 3 Dec 2019, it noted that Indian economy continues to achieve impressive long-term growth rates despite a recent deceleration.
Highlighting that the economic slowdown is cyclical rather than structural, S&P expects rising domestic demand and strong demographics drive economic growth.
S&P has maintained a stable outlook on expectation that over the next two years the growth will remain strong.
India will maintain its sound net external position and fiscal deficit will remain elevated but broadly in line with forecast, said S&P. fiinews.com
