Deadline: 30 months for completion

Reliance Inferastructure (RInfra) has secured a Rs.648 crore contract to build a greenfield airport at Hirasar in Rajkot district of Gujarat state.

Airport Authority of India has given a Letter of Award for the airport to Reliance Infrastructure Ltd E&C (Engineering & Construction) for completion in 30 months.

The Engineering, Procurement and Construction contract includes building of runways and roads, fire station, as well as supply, installation, testing and commissioning of airfield ground lighting system, visual aids for navigation among others, said RInfra in a release on 5 Mar 2019.

The airport is near National Highway-8B and is 36 km from existing Rajkot Airport.

Reliance Infrastructure Ltd E&C is part of Reliance Infrastructure Ltd (RInfra) which has a project portfolio of 1,000 km of roads, 140-MW of solar power, 4,000 km of transmission lines and 9,000 MW of thermal power. fiinews.com
