Recognition for India’s smart city mission.
Gujarat International Finance-Tec City (GIFT City) won four awards at CMO Asia 2017 on 2nd August 2017 in Singapore.
India’s 1st operational Smart City & International Financial Services Centre (IFSC), it was honoured in 4 categories – Best Smart City initiative, Environmentally Sustainable city, Smart Infrastructure and Best Use of CSR practices.
The Asia Smart City and Best CSR Practices Awards are Asia’s highest recognition of corporate organisations covering almost 41 Countries.
CMO Asia is dedicated to high level exchange through leadership and networking amongst CMOs and brand decision makers across the industry segments.
Speaking on this achievement, Ajay Pandey, MD & Group CEO, GIFT City, said, Recognition as “Smart Infrastructure & Environmentally sustainable city” category by CMO Asia is a testimony to “all of our hard work and journey covered by GIFT”.
It is a matter of great pride that “Balvatika”, GIFT’s CSR initiative, which is directly impacting the life of about 40 underprivileged children, has been awarded under Asia’s BEST CSR Practice by World CSR Congress.
Similar to “Balvatika”, GIFT’s world class infrastructure and use of technology has been recognized as the “Best Smart City Initiatives”.
GIFT City is included in Government of India’s Smart City Mission Statement as model city in Greenfield category for development of 100 smart cities in India.
Termed as India’s first ‘Operational Greenfield Smart City,’ GIFT City encompasses World Class infrastructure facilities many of which are being introduced in India for the first time; such as a city wide underground Utility Tunnel (wherein vehicle can travel for all utility maintenance works requiring no further digging work), District Cooling System (centralized cooling system for the City), Automated Waste Collection System (India’s first automated collection and segregation of organic and inorganic waste), City Command & Control Centre (single management point for the entire city) and potable drinking water supply across the city.
