Salisbury’s market growth strategy
India has always been a very important market for Cambridge-based Thermoteknix Systems Ltd and has established infrastructure since the 1980s to be part of tech-savvy industry in the world’s fastest growing market.
“We have been selling industrial systems to the cement market,” said Managing Director Dr Richard Salisbury. “Nearly every cement company in India uses our thermal imaging technology for controlling their manufacturing process.”
Further expansion is planned in the defence sector, added Dr Salisbury, pointing out that Thermoteknix has been building on its security and surveillance network in the country for the past 15 years.
“Our strategy is to grow the market to ensure that we have a sizeable percentage of Indian contracts in our export orders,” he underlined the growth potential in the Indian market at DSEI 2019 held in London 10-13 Sept 2019.
Thermoteknix currently operates out of an Ahmedabad office.
Overall, the company is still working in the United Kingdom defence market, supplying 60% of its systems with the balance worldwide.
Thermoteknix has been working in the thermal imaging and night vision systems for 35 years and supplies its vertical market and OEM components to many of the world leading defence contractors.
Originally, it was a supplier to large multinational defence contractors, allowing its leading-edge technology to be encapsulated in their vertical market products – cameras.
Over the past 10 years the company has developed more and more of its own state of the art products concentrating on the dismounted war fighter and mobile units.
Thermoteknix was founded in 1982 and has 35 years’ experience of consistent technical breakthroughs in thermal imaging and thermal measurement-based hardware, systems and software application products.
Thermoteknix has been driven by reliably taking care of its customers’ most challenging needs with applications outside the industrial and defence industries which include motor racing, aerospace and lunar observation programs.
