Ambani invests Rs.3,000 crore
About two-thirds of the 124 projects, with investment intent of Rs.2 lakh crore, are in various stages of implementation in Odisha where the Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has pledged a further Rs.3,000 crore investment.
Giving update, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said the 124 projects are committed at the ‘Make in Odisha Conclave 2016’.
With a view to giving further impetus to certain key manufacturing sectors, the state has laid down the Odisha Industrial Development Plan: Vision 2025, aiming for Rs.2.5 lakh crore in 6 sectors.
The Chief Minister was addressing the “Make in Odisha 2018” on 12 November 2018 at Bhubaneswar. It is being held 11-15 Nov 2018.
Odisha has recently launched a progressive Aerospace and Defence Manufacturing Policy to capitalize on the competitive advantages of Odisha’s existing eco-system to attract investment in this high potential sector.
Targeting port-led development, Odisha has been planning a chain of ports along the East Coast Economic Corridor.
“Apart from Paradip and Dhamra, we are developing deep-water ports at Subarnarekha and Gopalpur, a riverine port on Mahanadi River and a chain of 12 other non-major ports,” said Patnaik.
Among new projects, Patnaik announced the Skilled-in-Odisha Mission to build an iconic global brand.
“I am glad to announce that we have built an excellent infrastructure an 18-storeyed World Skill Centre in Bhubaneswar.
“Odisha Skill Development Authority shall manage the World Skill Centre with technical support from ITEES, Singapore. This Centre will function as the centralized hub with all 71 Government ITIs as spokes for implementation of the Odisha Skill Development Project – an ambitious Rs.1,400 crore project,” he said.
Supporting the development in Odisha, RIL Chairman & Managing Director Mukhesh Ambani said: Reliance Jio is a committed partner in Make in Odisha vision and has already invested Rs.6,000 crores in the state.
